Eugene Jack Beach, 89, lifelong resident of Rochester, entered eternal life on Sunday, February 3, 2019, surrounded by his family.
Eugene “Jack” was born May 28, 1929 in Rochester, MN to Perry and Leona (Tietz) Beach. He graduated from Rochester High and was drafted into the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War with the 3rd Infantry Division from 1950-1953. Eugene married Glennis Lydia Treder on August 23, 1958 and resided in Rochester where they raised their family. Eugene worked with his father in the family flooring business, dabbled in real estate, and was a longtime employee of the Rochester School District. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling with family. Nothing gave him more joy and happiness than his two grandchildren. They put a smile on his face every time he saw them.
Survivors include his three sons, Robert (Linda Busby) Beach of Dodge Center, Richard (Laurie Furr) Beach of Rochester & Daniel Beach of Burnsville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brooklyn Lydia “Cutie” and Jack Thomas “Smiling Jack” of Rochester.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glennis; son, David Beach; and sisters, Dorothy Beach and Arbutus Hogle.
The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Adam Koglin officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester with Military Rights provided by the American Legion Post 92.
Memorials may be designated to Redeemer Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
