I found myself watching the original A Christmas Carol from 1938 the other day. It’s always been one of my favorites. Every year, I’ll make sure to watch 2 movies. Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Carol. Without fail.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be the ORIGINAL Christmas Carol but out of all of them, the 1938 version is my favorite.
So, I got to wondering if anyone from the original movie were still alive. As it turns out, at least one of the cast is alive and well and lives in Minneapolis.
Terry Kilburn, the actor who played Tiny Tim in the 1938 version was originally born in London (and he just celebrated his 96th birthday)
Of course, that’s not all he did. He’s had quite the career, according to his Wikipedia page.
You learn something new every day. It’s always kind of cool to find out a Minnesota connection to some of our favorite movies. Here’s an interview with Kilburn below, courtesy of WCCO-CBS.
