American Legion Post 597 invites you to the 2025 Show & Shine Car Show in Elma, Iowa on the first Monday of each month thru September from 5 to 8pm.  Open to vehicles of all ages with prizes, music, food & drinks.  Free registration!

The 507 Experience is a grass roots initiative dedicated to building community through intentional listening and human presence. Serving communities throughout the 507 area code, the organization encourages one-on-one and group conversations that nurture understanding, empathy and mutual respect. *What can you do? Do a Coffee Blitz: grab a friend, colleague or someone you just met and have a conversation. *On the 7th of every month, gather a diverse group of people for a conversation. Listen and learn about one another.

Friday August 22nd at Willow Creek Golf Course

The Bullfrog Open Charity Golf Outing is Friday, August 22 at Willow Creek with 11am registration and Noon shotgun start.  Proceeds benefit the Jeremiah Program who’s mission is to disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children.  This 4-person scramble includes 18 holes with cart, lunch and prizes after golf.

The Austin ArtWorks Festival

The 14th annual Austin ArtWorks Festival takes place Saturday & Sunday August 23 and 24. This is a free two-day outdoor celebration of the visual, performing, and literary arts. The Festival music stages feature an eclectic line-up of artists from across the region.  Performances featured on the authors/ theatrical arts stage including literary arts, theatre presentations and more. A special family show is also planned for Saturday evening as part of a soft opening of the newly renovated Historic Paramount Theatre.

Saturday Aug 30 from 11am to 3pm at Back Home Harley Davidson in Rochester

The 1st Annual Kody Gilpin Charity Car, Truck & Bike Show is Saturday August 30th from 11am to 3pm at Back Home Harley-Davidson in Rochester. The event is more than a vehicle show, it’s a tribute to Kody Gilpin, a passionate mechanic & motorhead who had been bravely living with Marfan Syndrome, a rare tissue disorder that ultimately took his life.  His legacy touched many lives.  The event will feature all makes and models, DJ, Food trucks, silent auction, Best in Show awards and more.  Proceeds benefit The Marfan Foundation and American Heart Association.  Find out more on their Facebook page.

 

 

Brian Erickson Memorial Golf Outing

Sat Sept 13th at Oak Summit Golf Course in Rochester

Brian Erickson passed away in an unfortunate ATV accident in 2013.  To respect his memory, his family is putting on a golf outing on Saturday September 13th at Oak Summit Golf Course in Rochester.  Brian was a cement finisher and proceeds from this event will support funding to help buy tools and empower and inspire the next generation of trade and construction workers.
